What it is:
This test measures the amount of adrenaline (epinephrine), a hormone and neurotransmitter produced by the adrenal glands, in a 24-hour urine sample. Adrenaline helps regulate the body’s “fight or flight” response, affecting heart rate, blood pressure, and metabolism.
Uses

Detect and monitor adrenal tumors such as pheochromocytoma or paraganglioma

Investigate causes of hypertension (high blood pressure)

Evaluate symptoms suggestive of excess adrenaline production
